Welcome to my website. I live in Hill County Texas, and lots of my photos originate from this area. Nature photography is my favorite, because it allows me time with all that God has created. I love to capture things with my camera and share them with others. I shoot with the Canon 1d Mark IV and use a Canon 7d as a backup camera. My favorite lens is my Canon 2.8 300mm. I also use the Canon 100-400mm L Series lens a lot.
I graduated from New York Institute in Photography in 2003. The course gave me a great start to understanding photography. A lot of my skills are self taught, and I continue to improve my art by placing myself along side other skilled photographers.
I specialize in nature and sports photography. I love the challenge of stopping the action, whether it be an eagle in flight, or a baseball just as it reaches the bat. I'm also available for weddings, events and portraits.
I am the photographer for Cameron Park Zoo in Waco Texas. One of my zoo photos recently won Judge's Choice Award in Bosque County, and Merit Award at a Granbury Photography Show. I do photography for all of the local fire departments, and digital versions of most of the fire photos are available to local firefighters at no charge. I also do lots of photography at the church I attend, Church on the Hill in Hillsboro Texas.
My work has been featured on ZooBorns, both the website and a book that became available in November 2012. Cameron Park Zoo uses my photos for their billboards and advertising in magazines including Texas Monthly and Austin Monthly. My photos have been on the covers of Bosque Living Magazine, Connect magazine, and have been included in Power Source Magazine, Texas DPS Annual Report 2006, 1st Responder Magazine, local newspapers and news stations, and multiple publications for the zoo. Most recently my photos were featured in an online gallery for the Waco Trib, and in Waco Today Magazine. I also wrote and article that featured some of my bird photos for Bosque Living Magazine. Connections Magazine is another source that features my photographs. Connections is the quarterly publication for Hillsboro ISD. Tex Appeal magazine recently featured some of my photos from Cameron Park Zoo.
I am married to Tom, the Emergency Management Co-ordinator for Hill County. We have one daughter, Kristi, who is 26 and works at Cameron Park Zoo as their Membership/Rentals Manager.
